Who We Are
The Community Loan Center of the Heart of Texas (CLCHOT), administered by NeighborWorks Waco, has completed all the paperwork required to become a not-for-profit organization and a licensed lender in the State of Texas.
In November 2016, the Community Loan Center of the Heart of Texas was launched. The Community Loan Center provides an affordable small-dollar loan program to area businesses, allowing them to offer loans as a benefit to their employees. The concept of the Community Loan Center was originally created to help people meet individual needs for short-term loans that are quick and easily accessible. It was designed to provide an alternate source of loans away from local payday and auto title lenders with high-interest rates and fees. CLC HOT wants to offer innovative loans that promote enhanced quality of life to low-to-moderate income persons.
NeighborWorks Waco is a non-profit whose mission is “to build stronger neighborhoods through homeownership, quality rental housing, and community-building initiatives." NeighborWorks Waco offers services that include one-on-one financial and homebuying counseling, educational workshops, rental programs, new construction homes, and full lending services.
